A grand jury voted on Wednesday, March 6 to indict Kent resident Silvio Tenesaca on charges that include vehicular manslaughter for his role in the death of George Rosalino on Nov. 27 last year.
Tenesaca was driving in the area of Route 52 and Palmer Trail in Lake Carmel at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27 when he struck Rosalino, who was riding his bike in the area, police said. Tenesaca waiting upwards of an hour before alerting law enforcement. Rosalino was pronounced dead at the scene.
The grand jury chose to indict Tenesaca, 49, on charges that include vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident and criminally negligent homicide, all felonies. He was also charged with driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent.
Tenesaca has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Following his arrest in November, Tenesaca was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail or $100,000 bond, though he reportedly no longer being held there.
